The
106AC-1 Anti-Coincidence printed circuit board (PCB) is an
anti-coincidence circuit based on the ingenious and simple GO COSMOS tool scheme. Timing resistors R1 and R2 are turret terminal mounted for ease of selection or change on a fastened board. Output pulse polarity is jumper selectable. The 106AC-1 PCB is jumper configurable to be compatible with either armor / chassis negative or armor / chassis positive line power. It requires only a single 10-15 volt power supply to operate. The semiconductors are ordinarily mounted in high quality machine pin sockets, but can be mounted directly to the 106AC-1 PCB if low clearance is required. This PCB is designed to be used in tools where the two detectors share the same pressure housing, or in separately housed dual detector tools using the 106PP-1 pulse picker (independent connect-together dual detector tools like those made by Comprobe can thus be retrofitted to have anti-coincidence protection). The 106AC-1 PCB is 0.8 inches wide and mounts on two (2) inch centers. All dual detector logging tools (dual gamma-ray tools, gamma-ray / neutron tools, etc.) benefit from an anti-coincidence circuit.
The 106AC-1 Anti-Coincidence PCB is part of the 106 Radiation Tool™ PCB family. 106 Radiation Tool PCBs can be used to upgrade or repair tools, or an entire electronics section can be assembled from scratch using several PCBs (as in reworking an old tube / Nuvistor tool). All 106 Tool PCBs use readily obtainable components, which parts will continue to be available for many years to come, and all use convenient turret terminals for wiring connections. Due to time constraints on maintaining this website, the PCB illustrated below may not be the most recent revision of the board and / or circuit.
