The 106LD-4 Dual Channel Line Driver printed circuit board (PCB) is a simple and reliable line driver circuit, without pulse forming circuitry, using the HA-5002 buffer integrated circuit (replaces the hybrid LH0002). Two inputs are provided, but this little line driver is a versatile building block circuit that can be used in a host of applications including complex telemetry schemes. Pulse height balancing / adjusting resistors R1 and R2 are turret terminal mounted for ease of selection or change on a fastened board, as is output resistor R3 (required for simultaneous cement bond logging). The 106LD-4 can be used as a single channel line driver by simply installing a jumper (JP1 or JP2) at the appropriate R1 or R2 position producing a maximum amplitude output, or pulse height can be controlled with an appropriate single resistor installed at R1 or R2. The 106LD-4 PCB is jumper configurable to be compatible with either armor / chassis negative or armor / chassis positive line power. It requires only a single 10-15 volt power supply to operate (no second higher voltage supply is required as with many line driver designs). The 106LD-4 PCB measures 0.8 inches wide and mounts on two (2) inch centers.
The 106LD-4 Dual Channel Pulse Former and Line Driver PCB is part of the 106 Radiation Tool™ PCB family. 106 Radiation Tool PCBs can be used to upgrade or repair tools, or an entire electronics section can be assembled from scratch using several PCBs (as in reworking an old tube / Nuvistor tool). All 106 Tool PCBs use readily obtainable components, which parts will continue to be available for many years to come, and all use convenient turret terminals for wire connections. Due to time constraints on maintaining this website, the PCB illustrated below may not be the most recent revision of the board and / or circuit.
