106LD-7 Compact Single Transistor Line Driver PCB

The 106LD-7 Single Channel Line Driver printed circuit board (PCB) is a very compact incredibly simple and reliable line driver circuit, without pulse forming circuitry, using a single transistor.  Easily reversing the position of two resistors and selecting the appropriate jumper setting allows for positive or negative pulse output to the logging line (pulse input should be positive for either output pulse polarity).  Pulse height adjusting resistor R3 is turret terminal mounted for ease of selection or change on a fastened board.  The 106LD-7 PCB is jumper configurable to be compatible with either armor / chassis negative or armor / chassis positive line power.  It requires only a single 15-18 volt power supply to operate (no second higher voltage supply is required as with many line driver designs).  The 106LD-7 PCB measures a mere 0.6 inches wide and mounts on two (2) inch centers making it ideal for small diameter tools.

The 106LD-7 Single Channel Compact Line Driver PCB is part of the 106 Radiation Tool™ PCB family.  106 Radiation Tool PCBs can be used to upgrade or repair tools, or an entire electronics section can be assembled from scratch using several PCBs (as in reworking an old tube / Nuvistor tool).  All 106 Tool PCBs use readily obtainable components, which parts will continue to be available for many years to come, and all use convenient turret terminals for wire connections.  We prefer through-hole components for PCBs designed to survive high temperature, but selected components may be surface mount (SMT), or have provisions for either through-hole or SMT where price and/or availability is an issue.
